The Lao eVisa is an official electronic travel authorization issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Lao People's Democratic Republic. It permits foreign tourists from eligible nations to enter Laos for up to 30 continuous days on a single-entry basis. Once approved, travelers receive an official eVisa Approval Letter in PDF format, which must be printed and handed to immigration officers upon entering Laos.

The Lao eVisa is accepted at major international entry points across the country. These include Wattay International Airport in Vientiane, Luang Prabang International Airport, and Pakse International Airport in Champasak. It is also accepted at key land borders, notably the Lao-Thai Friendship Bridge I (Vientiane/Nong Khai), Friendship Bridge II (Savannakhet/Mukdahan), and Friendship Bridge IV (Bokeo/Chiang Khong). Travelers entering by other regional borders must ensure their port is authorized.

The Lao eVisa Approval Letter is valid for 60 calendar days from its approval date. You must enter Laos within this 60-day window. Upon entry, you are granted a maximum stay of 30 continuous days. If you wish to extend your stay, you can visit the Immigration Department office in Vientiane or provincial immigration offices before your initial 30 days expire to request an extension.
