The Working Holiday Visa Eligibility Finder matches your nationality, age cutoff between 18 and 35, and savings balance to 1-to-3 year youth mobility visas worldwide.
Working Holiday treaties are strictly bilateral based on your passport.
Age is locked in on the day you submit your visa application (you can enter the country after turning 31/36 once granted).
Cash balance in your bank statement. Most WHVs require $2,500–$3,500 USD PLUS a return/onward flight ticket (or extra funds in lieu of a ticket).
Required for certain Subclass 462 (Work & Holiday) nationalities and Ireland/Singapore youth programs.
At age 28 with $4,500 USD in liquid savings, you meet both the age cutoff and bank balance thresholds for 5 of 5 age-eligible treaties: Australia, New Zealand, Canada, Ireland, South Korea.
Apply online for your Cambodia Tourist eVisa ($84.99), Cambodia 7-day e-Arrival Card (from $20), or Azerbaijan ASAN eVisa (from $59.99) with 24/7 document review.
Working Holiday Visas (WHV) and Youth Mobility Schemes are the easiest legal way to live and work abroad for 1 to 3 years without employer sponsorship—provided you understand the age cutoffs and border activation rules.
Comparison of age limits, liquid savings requirements, and onward flight rules at entry.

Yes! US citizens qualify directly for Australia (Subclass 462, ages 18–30), New Zealand (ages 18–30), Ireland (ages 18–35 for recent graduates/students), South Korea (ages 18–30), and Singapore (6 months for top university students/grads). Additionally, Americans aged 18–35 can work in Canada for up to 2 separate 12-month periods through an IEC Recognized Organization (Swap Working Holidays).
If you hold a UK passport, no—since July 2024, British citizens are completely exempt from the 88-day/6-month specified regional work requirement and can get all 3 years freely. All other Subclass 417 and 462 nationalities must still complete 88 days (Year 2) and 6 months (Year 3) of specified work (agriculture, hospitality in northern/remote Australia, bushfire/flood recovery, or construction).
As long as your complete application and fee are submitted before midnight on the day before your 31st (or 36th) birthday, you remain 100% eligible. For Canada IEC, which uses a pool-and-invitation lottery, you must receive your Invitation to Apply (ITA) and submit before turning 31/36.
Because airlines only publish schedules 330–355 days in advance, most WHV holders cannot book their true return flight a full year out. Immigration laws in Australia, New Zealand, and Canada allow you to present either a flexible onward ticket departing within the next few months (such as a regional trip or changeable booking) or an extra $1,000–$1,500 USD on your bank statement earmarked for your future flight home.
