Important

Two things people miss

The e-Arrival card is separate

Everyone flying into Cambodia files it — visa holders and visa-exempt travelers alike — within the 7 days before arrival. We can file it for you.

Have your eVisa ready to show

Cambodia's eVisa site says to present your eVisa certificate to immigration on arrival (since August 1, 2026 it carries a QR code). Keep it on your phone and bring a printed copy as a backup.

Why you're going

Things to do in Cambodia for French travelers

Your visa covers all of it — these are the four most visitors build a trip around.

  • Angkor Wat, Siem Reap

Sunrise over the largest religious monument on earth. Allow three days for the wider temple complex.

  • Phnom Penh

The riverfront capital — Royal Palace, the National Museum, and the memorials that explain modern Cambodia.

  • Koh Rong islands

Pro tips

Cambodia travel tips for French citizens

  • Currency

US dollars are used everywhere alongside Cambodian Riel. Bring clean, untorn notes; change under $1 comes back in Riel.

  • Best time to visit

November to February is dry and cooler. April is the hottest month; the rains run June to October.

  • Connectivity

A tourist SIM is $2–3 from Metfone or Smart at the airport. Coverage is good in cities and at the temples.

  • Health

No vaccinations are required for entry. Travel insurance is sensible — medical care outside Phnom Penh is limited.

  • Carry your eVisa

Cambodia's eVisa site says to show it to immigration on arrival. Keep it on your phone, plus a printed backup.

  • Getting around

PassApp and Grab work in the cities. Tuk-tuks are cheap but agree the fare before you set off.

Frequently asked

Cambodia visa FAQ for French citizens

Do French citizens need a visa for Cambodia?

Yes. French passport holders need either a Type T tourist eVisa or a Type E business eVisa. Both are issued online — no embassy visit.

How much is a Cambodia visa in 2026?

The government fee is $30 for the tourist eVisa and $35 for business. Through us, the all-in price is $84.99 tourist and $94.99 business, with the government portion shown separately at checkout.

How long does the Cambodia eVisa take?

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs issues most eVisas within 3 business days. We submit the same day you complete your form, and apply earlier if you are traveling within the week.

What documents do French citizens need?

A passport valid 6+ months from arrival, a recent passport-style photo, and a payment method. No flight booking, hotel reservation or bank statement is required.

How long is the Cambodia eVisa valid?

Three months from the date of issue, and it permits a stay of up to 30 days on a single entry. The three months is the window in which you must enter, not the length of your stay.

What is the e-Arrival card and do I need it?

It is an online arrival declaration, separate from your visa. Everyone flying into Cambodia files one, visa-exempt travelers included, up to 7 days before arrival. We can file it for you.

Which entry points accept the Cambodia eVisa?

By air: Techo International (KTI), Siem Reap Angkor (SAI) and Sihanoukville (KOS). By land: Bavet from Vietnam and Tropaeng Kreal from Laos. Cham Yeam and Poipet are currently closed to eVisa entry.

What happens if my application is refused?

We refund our service fee in full and explain what went wrong. The government fee is collected by the Cambodian authorities, so that portion is not ours to return.
